Allentown, PA - January 12, 2024: The Penn State University Lehigh Valley men's and women's basketball teams hosted, at Cedar Crest College, the Penn State New Kensington men's and women's teams for a Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) matchup. The PSLV women went into the game 6-1 in conference play, 10-2 overall, sitting at the top of the East Division while the PSNK women came into the game 3-5 in conference play and 5-5 overall. PSNK jumped out to an early lead, but by the 2nd quarter, PSLV settled in and took control of a very physical game, winning 78-53. The PSLV women were led by Hillary Offing (45), a freshman from South Carolina, who had 13 points and 9 rebounds. The PSLV women had six players in double figures, including Gabby Giracello and Chloe Cassidy who had 12 points each. The PSNK women were led by Destiny Batiste who had 18 points and 14 rebounds. The PSNK men came into the game against PSLV as the favorite, with a 5-3 conference record and 7-4 overall record versus PSLV's 2-5 conference record, 6-6 overall. For most of the game, the score remained close as the teams exchanged some big runs. Midway through the 2nd half however, PSNK took command of the game and they finished big, winning the game 101-86. The PSNK men were led by Ta'Rasi Means (13), a sophomore out of Plum, PA, who scorched the PSLV defense with his 37 points and 5 assists. The PSLV men were led by Nas Ruhani who scored 23 points.
