Bethlehem, PA - November 19, 2023: The #23 ranked University of Pittsburgh wrestling team visited the #17 ranked Lehigh University on November 19, 2023 for an in-state opening dual match. Pitt won seven of ten bouts to upset Lehigh 21-12 in front of 1,746 fans at Lehman-Turner Arena's Grace Hall. The match started at 125 pounds. Lehigh won that bout as well as the next at 133 pounds before Pitt rattled off six wins to take a commanding lead. Lehigh's Ryan Crookham and Michael Beard won their matches by bonus points. Pitt's Finn Solomon won a key bout at 149 in sudden victory (11-4), which fired up the Panthers. Up next, Lehigh will go on the road to State College to take on #1 ranked Penn State while Pitt will travel to Maryland.
