Allentown, PA - January 14, 2025: The Parkland High School boys basketball team, trying to make a move in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) Lehigh Division and the District XI 6A standings, defeated Easton Area High School 60-38 Tuesday night at Parkland.

Leading the way for Parkland was Tyler Beck (25), a junior, with 17 points and Jude Ruisch (33), also a junior, with 10 points. Although Beck came off the bench and did not score at all in the first half, he had a big 3rd period scoring 11 points. Meanwhile, Ruisch paved the way in the first half with 6 of his 10 points.

Easton Head Coach Eric Jacobs felt some fouls were not being called and in the 3rd period, Jacobs let the officials have an earful. Jacobs was hit with his first technical but did not let up. Jacobs was immediately hit with his second technical and had to leave the game. Easton Assistant Coach Greg Jones led the team for the remainder of the game. Easton’s Tyshaun Dunlap (4), a senior, led his team with 9 points.

Parkland improved to 8-5 overall while Easton fell to 4-10. Ahead of Parkland in the EPC/Lehigh Division is Allentown Central Catholic, William Allen, and Whitehall. Parkland will have their work cut out for them in the final weeks of January when they battle Allen on 1/21, Whitehall on 1/24, and Central on 1/28. If Parkland intends on making a move in the standings, they’ll have to win those big games.
