Orefield, PA - November 7, 2023: The Parkland High School field hockey team edged visiting Central Bucks West (CBW) High School 2-1 in the first round of the PIAA 3A championship. Parkland will play Manheim Township, the top seed from District 3, in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Parkland captain Elaina Fragassi (8), pictured below, scored in the first period to give her team the early lead before CBW tied it up in the 2nd period. The game stayed tied until, following a penalty corner in the 3rd period, Parkland's Lila Temchatin scored the game winner. The win was Parkland's first in PIAA play since 2009.
