New Tripoli, PA - September 3, 2026: The Northwestern Lehigh High School football team improved to 2-0 on the season after a dominating 48-0 win over visiting rival Northern Lehigh High School Thursday night in the Mountain Road Rumble football series. It was Northwestern’s fourth consecutive win in the series.

Northern Lehigh took the opening kickoff and was soon faced with a fourth and one situation near midfield. The Bulldogs decided to go for it early in the game and were stopped by a swarming Tigers’ defense. Five plays later, the Tigers scored their first of seven touchdowns in the game when QB Trey Snyder hit WR Brady Zimmerman on a 13-yard pass.

Northern Lehigh had a tough time moving the ball while Northwestern clicked on all cylinders. The Tigers would run for three additional touchdowns in the game, while passing for two and returning a punt for another TD. The defense would intercept a pass, which led to a touchdown, while holding the Bulldogs to under 30-yards rushing and only four first downs.

Leading the way for the Tiger offense was RB Chase Sukanick, who ran for 126 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns. Tigers QB Trey Snyder was 13 for 16 in passing for 175 yards and two touchdowns.

“It’s a great atmosphere,” said Sukanick after the game. “I think we have the best stands in the Lehigh Valley.” “We’re just clicking right now and none of my yards would have been able to happen if not for my line.”

Scoring: Brady Zimmerman 13-yard pass in the 1st quarter, Chase Sukanick 11-yard run in the 1st quarter, Harrison Wertman 19-yard pass in the 1st quarter, Michael Lagowy 56-yard punt return in the 2nd quarter, Sukanick a 4-yard run in the 2nd quarter, Lucian Sterling 4-yard run in the 3rd quarter, Tripp Sell an 11-yard run in the 4th quarter. Grayson Smith was six of seven in extra points for the Tigers.
