Allentown, PA - February 1, 2024: In their final regular season dual, the Muhlenberg College wrestling team lost to defending Centennial Conference champions Ursinus College at home 23-13. Muhlenberg is now 9-3 on the season as it prepares for the 2024 Centennial Conference Championships which take place February 10 in Westminster, Maryland. Tonight's match was close throughout and Muhlenberg led after seven bouts 13-10. But, it wasn't until the next bout at 149, which Ursinus' Dante Monaco majored Muhlenberg's Alex Greco, that Ursinus seemed to feel the victory was at hand. The sudden victory win by Jake Ahmad at 285 was also a big momentum swing for Ursinus. Ursinus then closed out the match by winning the last two bouts at 157 and 165; winning six of the ten bouts on the night. Ryan Fairchild of Muhlenberg had a nice upset win in sudden victory (8-5) over the region's #3 ranked wrestler, Maxwell Borton, at 184 pounds.
