Allentown, PA - September 9, 2023: Muhlenberg College hosted Salisbury University at Scotty Wood Stadium for a non-conference football game. The teams never played each other during the regular season but the Muhlswon two out of three playoff games against the Seagulls; both teams won their season opener a week ago. The Seagulls started quick, scoring two touchdowns early. Muhlenberg's defense seemed to then settle in and the offense exploded for three touchdowns, including a 52-yard touchdown reception by Chris Ardito, in the second quarter to give the Muhls a 21-14 lead at the half. The second half became more of a defensive battle with the Seagulls only managing a field goal while the Muhls again connected on a long pass play late in the 3rd quarter. The Muhls' defense added a safety in the 4th to win 29-17. The Muhls offense converted on a few third downs to keep drives alive (6 for 13) and racked up 438 total yards. The below photo shows Muhlenberg QB Joe Repetti (11) scoring on a 9 yard run in the second quarter behind a big block by RB Ian Csicsek (28). Csicsek is a local Saucon Valley High School graduate.
