Moravian Falls To Elizabethtown

Bethlehem, PA - November 19, 2025: In an early-season Landmark Conference battle, the 14th ranked Elizabethtown College women’s basketball team remained undefeated (3-0) Wednesday night after defeating Moravian University 70-67 at Johnston Hall. The loss dropped the Greyhounds to 1-2 so far on the season.


Moravian jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the opening minute but Elizabethtown fought back to tie the game by hitting a couple 3-point baskets. Moravian then scored four points to take a 10-6 lead mid way through the first period. Elizabethtown worked its way close and with about a minute to go in the first, they took a 15-14 lead. The game would remain close the rest of the way and Moravian was certainly within reach of upsetting the Blue Jays.


The Blue Jays spread the offense around as they ended the game with five players in double figures. Kamryn Mengel led her team with 17 points and 3 steals followed by Peyton Houlihan who had 12 points. Allyia Kennedy, Ella Gordon, and Kiley Wilhelm each had 10 points. Kennedy and Wilhelm each had 8 rebounds. A big factor in the game was the rebounding and the second, and sometimes third, shot attempts by Elizabethtown. The Blue Jays out rebounded the Greyhounds 40 to 27.


Leading the effort for the Greyhounds were Lizzie Lustig with 24 points and Megan Elias with 10 points. Lustig is a Council Rock North High School graduate while Elias is an Easton Area High School graduate.


There are several other District XI or local PA athletes who play for Moravian. Grace Steffen is a Wallenpaupack Area High School graduate, she played 22 minutes and had 6 points and 9 rebounds in tonight’s game. Mallory Elias is an Easton Area High school graduate, she played 23 minutes, had 4 points and 3 assists. Jayda Cartagena is a Dieruff High School graduate, she played 8 minutes and had 2 points. Ellie Wallbillich is a Pen Argyl High School graduate, she played 19 minutes, had 3 points and 3 steals.


Cartagena, a senior, and Steffen, a junior, are the 2025-2026 season Captains for the Greyhounds.
