Lehigh Men's Wrestling Goes 2-0 On Weekend

Bethlehem, PA - January 11, 2026: The Lehigh University men’s wrestling team went 2-0 on the weekend after defeating 20th ranked Cornell University Saturday afternoon 20-17 and American University Sunday afternoon 32-7. The Mountain Hawks, currently ranked 22nd, are now 5-6 overall.


Leading the way for Lehigh in both matches at Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall were Ryan Crookham, Luke Stanich, Max Brignola, JT Davis, Nathan Taylor, and Sheldon Seymour, all went 2-0. It was Crookham’s second win of the weekend over a ranked opponent.


Lehigh won six bouts against long-time rival Cornell with Brignola getting a tech fall for bonus points. Cornell recorded two tech falls and a major decision to keep the match very close.


Lehigh was down 17-11 against the Big Red heading into the last three bouts. It was the crux of Lehigh’s lineup: Davis, Taylor, and Seymour, who posted decisions to give Lehigh the victory.


Lehigh then dominated American in their EIWA opener by winning eight of the ten bouts, five of which were for bonus points. Stanich, Brignola, and Davis recorded tech falls while Bekhruz Sadriddinov and Seymour recorded major decisions.
