Lehigh Defeats Loyola

Bethlehem, PA - March 9, 2026: The Lehigh University women’s basketball team took on Loyola University Maryland Monday evening at Stabler Arena in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Tournament and came away with a resounding 68-54 victory.
It was Lehigh’s third win against Loyola this season. The Mountain Hawks narrowly defeated the Greyhounds 63-62 on February 4th and 67-61 in overtime on January 21st. Tonight’s win improved Lehigh’s overall record against Loyola to 21-9.
At the start of the game, the teams exchanged shots and it appeared like this game would be another close battle. Lehigh, however, went on in the first quarter to outscore Loyola 19-9. It was a lead they would not give up the rest of the game. Each team shot 45% from the field and 27% from the 3-point line.
The Lehigh defense hustled all game defending the 3-point line and protecting inside the paint. Lehigh forced 19 Loyola turnovers and had 7 steals. They scored 14 points off of those turnovers.
Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks were Lehigh’s Gracyn Lovette (23) who scored a career-high 19 points. She also had 8 assists. Lovette was 6 for 8 from the field and 4 for 5 from the 3-point line. Lehigh’s Belle Bramer (12) had 16 points and 3 steals while Whitney Lind (30) led the way in the rebound department with 8.
On the Loyola side, Lex Therien had 20 points while teammate Amandine Amorich added 7 points.
Lehigh advances to play Navy, the top seed, on March 12, 2026 in Annapolis, MD. Navy advanced in the tournament after defeating Boston University this evening. In the only contest this season, Lehigh defeated Navy 75-64 on February 18th at Stabler Arena. Lehigh holds a 30-20 series edge over Navy.
