Allentown, PA - June 9, 2024: The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs hosted the Buffalo Bisons at Coca Cola Park for a six game series June 4th through the 9th and won four out of the six games to improve on their season record. The Iron Pigs got off to a good start in the series by winning the first three games, including a come from behind and walk-off victory in extra innings in game three, 7-6. The Iron Pigs were down by a run heading into the bottom of the 10th when Cal Stevenson singled followed by a Nick Podkul homer to walk it off. The Bisons won game four 5-2 followed by another Iron Pigs victory Saturday, 9-3. The Bisons closed out the series with a 6-4 victory Sunday afternoon. The Bisons outhit the Iron Pigs 49 to 42 in the series and both teams hit 9 home runs. Jim Haley and Nick Podkul each homered twice to lead the Iron Pigs. As far as pitching, Tyler Gilbert, Taylor Lehman, Zac Houston, and Tyler Phillips picked up wins for the Iron Pigs. The Iron Pigs head to Syracuse for a six game series from June 11th to the 16th before returning to Coca Cola Park for a six game series against Norfolk June 18th to the 23rd.
