Iron Pigs v Tides Series

Allentown, PA - July 27, 2025: The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs improved to 60-40 on the season after winning five of the six games against the Norfolk Tides this week. The Iron Pigs hosted the Tides at Coca-Cola Park from July 22nd thru July 27th. As they close out July, they are currently 1.5 games behind Durham in the International League East with about one and a half months left in the season.


The Iron Pigs defeated the Tides 3-2 Tuesday afternoon, 14-6 Wednesday night, 5-3 Thursday night, 7-6 Friday night, and 7-1 Saturday evening. They lost the last game of the series on Sunday afternoon 10-4.


Leading the way for the Iron Pigs at the plate during this recent series against the Tides were Justin Crawford, Oscar Mercado, and Keaton Anthony, who each had seven hits. Gabriel Rincones Jr. and Cal Stevenson each had six hits during the series. Four players, Garrett Stubbs, Donovan Walton, Payton Henry, and Mercado, had three-hit games during wins for the Iron Pigs.


On the mound, Nolan Hoffman in relief picked up the win for game one and game four, while Nicholas Padilla won game two, Phil Bickford won game three, and Josh Walker won game five.


On the season, Oscar Mercado (76 hits, 54 RBI, 35 stolen bases, .252), Gabriel Rincones Jr. (65 hits, 47 RBI, 11 home runs, .224), Justin Crawford (105 hits, 31 RBI, 31 stolen bases, .327), and Rodolfo Castro (68 hits, 46 RBI, 11 home runs, .229) are leading the Iron Pigs at the plate.


On the season, as far as pitching, Mick Abel has seven wins, Nabil Crismat has five wins, and Alan Rangel has five wins and a leading 2.31earned run average. The statistics show that so far this season, the Iron Pigs have utilized more than thirty-two different pitchers.


The Iron Pigs and Coca-Cola Park remains one of the best minor league ballparks to catch a baseball game. Over the course of the six-game series this week, over 49,000 fans enjoyed visiting the park and watching the Iron Pigs. Saturday night saw the biggest crowd as over 10,000 fans took in the win for the Iron Pigs. Each game is packed with giveaways, kids activities, special on-field recognition, a 50-50 drawing, and great food/drink.


The Iron Pigs close out July by going on the road to Worcester (MA) this coming week. They return home on August 5th to host Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a seven-game series, which includes a double-header on August 6th.
