Iron Pigs Take Series Against Clippers

Allentown, PA - July 12, 2026: The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs brought home the bacon Sunday afternoon to take four out of six games against the Columbus Clippers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The Iron Pigs easily won Sunday’s game 13-5. They won their games Tuesday (3-2), Thursday (8-7), and Saturday (6-3).
The wins against the Clippers helped the Iron Pigs improve their overall record to 45-48 in the International League East. They have a 10-8 record thus far in the second half of the season.
In the win on Tuesday, pitcher Michael Mercado came into the game in the 9th inning with the scored tied 2-2. He pitched two scoreless innings in the extra inning game to get the win. In the bottom of the 10th, Felix Reyes started the inning at 2nd base. Bryan De La Cruz doubled to center field, moving Reyes to 3rd base. The Clippers intentionally walked Dylan Carlson to bring Otto Kemp to the plate. Kemp singled to left field, scoring Reyes for the win. In the game, Dylan Moore, Keaton Anthony, and De La Cruz had two hits each for the Iron Pigs.
In another dramatic back and forth game on Thursday night, Seth Johnson came into the game for the Iron Pigs in the 9th inning with the game tied 7-7. Although Johnson was responsible for the Clippers’ one run in the top of the 9th, he was able to pull out the win after a dramatic walk-off double by Christian Cairo. Tommy Pham scored for the Iron Pigs on Cairo’s hit after he reached on a line drive single to right field. The first five innings of this game saw the Clippers score in each of their at bats to take a lead. The Iron Pigs answered each of the Clippers’ scoring with runs of their own, each time tying the game up in the bottom half of the inning. The Iron Pigs then took the lead for the first time in the bottom of the 8th inning on a home run to left field by Dylan Moore. It was Moore’s 6th home run of the season. The Clippers came back to tie the game in the top of the 9th inning before Pham and Cairo’s game winning back to back hits.
On Saturday, the Iron Pigs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st inning on a walk by Dylan Moore, singles by Felix Reyes, Keaton Anthony, and Otto Kemp, and a double by Liover Pequero. Carter Kieboom was also hit by a pitch and got on base during the inning. Kieboom, Reyes, and Pequero each had two hits in the game. On the mound, Chuck King started the game. He pitched five innings, giving up one run on two hits while striking out five. The win improved King’s record to 6-3.
In their largest margin of victory this series, the Iron Pigs had twelve hits as a team on Sunday. Four players had two hits each: Kieboom, De La Cruz, Paul McIntosh, and Steward Berroa. Adding to the hit parade were Pham, Cairo, Kemp, and Robert Moore with a hit each. Kemp, Berroa, and Kieboom also hit via the long ball with Berroa and Kieboom notching three RBI’s each.
On the mound Sunday for the win was Drake Fellows. He pitched five innings, giving up four hits and one run. Four additional pitchers were utilized after Fellows. Ryan Cusick, Kyle Bacchus, Andrew Bechtold, and Seth Johnson each pitched an inning to protect the lead.
The Iron Pigs’ Felix Reyes leads his team in batting. He has a .297 average, 79 hits with 266 at bats, 20 home runs, 15 doubles, and 61 RBI’s.
Iron Pigs right-handed pitcher Alan Rangel leads his team in pitching. Rangel started 11 games so far, has an ERA of 3.99, a WHIP of 1.31, and has struck out 73 batters. Chuck King has the best overall record for the Iron Pigs at 6-3 while Tucker Davidson is 5-3.
The Iron Pigs have four home stands left this season at Allentown’s Coca-Cola Park, named the top ball park in the minor leagues. Dedicated Iron Pigs fans flock to the park for a great family-friendly atmosphere and competitive baseball games. The Iron Pigs are home against Buffalo from July 28-August 2; home against Scranton/W-B from August 11-16; home against Syracuse from August 25-30; and home against Worcester from September 8-13. Every Friday night there are fireworks, as well as many other promotions every game.
