Allentown, PA - August 21, 2024: There's about a month to go in the International League's regular season as the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs began a twelve game homestand. The Iron Pigs are currently in 7th place in the International League East. The East is led by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre followed by Rochester. The Iron Pigs opened this homestand with the Rochester Red Wings and will close is out on September 1st hosting the Syracuse Mets. Tonight's game saw Rochester score 4 runs on 14 hits while holding the Iron Pigs to 1 run on 1 hit. The solo hit by the Iron Pigs came on a Scott Kingery triple to left field in the bottom of the 7th inning. Austin Hayes got on base before Kingery after being hit by a pitch. Rochester scored a run in the 1st, a run in the 2nd, and 2 runs in the 5th inning on a two run homer by Carter Kieboom. Drew Millas of Rochester had reached base on a single before the Kieboom shot to left field that just cleared the fence. Dylan Crews led the Red Wings on the night going 4 for 5. Kyle Tyler started for the Iron Pigs and got the loss. He went 6.0 innings and gave up 4 runs on 9 hits. Tyler Stuart started for the Red Wings and got the win. He went 6.2 innings and gave up the only hit and run. The below photo shows shortstop Scott Kingery (0) fielding a ground ball in the top of the 7th inning. Kingery made the throw to home for a fielder's choice out, preventing a run from scoring.
