Fairfax, VA - December 3, 2023: As part of our on the road series, KSE went to George Mason University (GMU) Saturday afternoon to catch their wrestling team, which has ten student-athletes from Pennsylvania on its roster, in action. Head Coach Frank Beasley, who wrestled and coached himself at Bloomsburg University (PA), knows the depth of talent in Pennsylvania wrestling. Coach Beasley, along with Assistant Coach Mike DePalma, a Jeannette, Pennsylvania native, devote a lot of time recruiting student-athletes from PA. The Patriots have three wrestlers from PA's District XI alone, including Charles Bunting and Nick Foster, from powerhouse Nazareth High School, and Evan Maag (pictured below on left) from Notre Dame Green Pond High school. In addition, Anthony Glasl and Ben Monn, both from PA, were 3-time state place winners in their high school days; Glasl from Brockway High School and Monn from Cumberland Valley High School. On our visit, GMU went 2-0 in their dual matches, beating Davidson College (NC) and Cleveland State University (OH). GMU, who wrestles in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), is currently 6-3 overall.
