Whitehall, PA - May 8, 2024: The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) and Colonial League (CL) Track & Field Championships were held May 7-8 at Whitehall High School. The Parkland High School Trojans swept the EPC boys and girls team titles while the Notre Dame Green Pond High School boys and the Southern Lehigh High School girls each won the CL title. The Parkland boys easily won, scoring 152.33 points to second place Stroudsburg who had 73.50. The Parkland girls scored 129.28 points to second place Emmaus who had 93.78. The Colonial League saw the Notre Dame Green Pond boys garner 157 points to Southern Lehigh's 133, while the Southern Lehigh girls scored 151 points to Notre Dame Green Pond's 115. Standing out for the Parkland boys was Andrew Beers who won both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles and the 400 meter dash. The Parkland boys put an exclamation point on their victory by winning the 4x400 meter relay. Parkland's Nathaniel Janukowicz won the 200 meter dash, Xander McWhite won the 100 meter dash, Ethan Willard won the 3200 meter run, and Julius Reyes won the discus. For the Parkland girls, Lana Hurwitz won the 800 meter run and the team won the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays. Other than those wins, the points were spread out among many of the athletes who stepped up and scored points, making it an all-around team win. Southern Lehigh's Alexandra Lea won the 200 meter and 400 meter dashes, she came in 2nd in the 100 meter dash, and the team won the 4x100 meter relay. Ella Sarnitsky won the pole vault for Southern Lehigh. Abraham Sasso won the 800 and 1600 meter runs for the Notre Dame Green Pond boys and the team won the 4x400 and 4x800 relays, while Dainn Vassallo won the discus. Notre Dame Green Pond chipped away at points elesewhere to also make it an all-around team win. Also starring, Notre Dame Green Pond's Savina Steel won the CL girls 100 and 300 hurdles, she broke a 40-year old record in the 100 meter hurdles. Virginia Kraus of Saucon Valley won both the CL girls 1600 and 3200 meter runs and she also anchored her team to a win in the 4x800 meter relay. Pictured below is the Parkland boys team.
