DeSales Women Defeat King's

Center Valley, PA - February 18, 2026: The DeSales University women’s basketball team exploded for 26 points in the 1st quarter and never looked back as they easily defeated visiting King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, PA) 76-45 Wednesday evening in a MAC Freedom game at Billera Hall.


This was the second win for DeSales over King’s this season. They defeated the Monarchs in Wilkes-Barre on January 28th by the narrow score of 62-59. Tonight was DeSales’ last home game of the regular season.


The Bulldogs had three players in double figures and there were nine different players who scored in the game. Leading the way was Lindsay Bednarek (13) who had 22 points and 3 steals. Mikaili Donmoyer (33) had 13 points and 10 rebounds while Kayla Ishigami (24) added 10 points and 4 steals.


The most impressive DeSales stats, which played a huge part in their victory, were the 36 points scored in the paint, the 25 points off of turnovers, and the 23 second chance points. DeSales was never behind in the game as the team controlled every aspect of the contest.


The win gave DeSales an overall record of 17-7 and a MAC Freedom record of 11-2. They have won eight of their last nine games and sit in first place with one game remaining on their schedule. The MAC Freedom championships start on February 25 and DeSales will be entering with a lot of momentum.


The top scorers for King’s College were Claire Aufiero (25) who had 11 points and 7 rebounds while Lauren Casey (42) added 10 points and 6 rebounds. King’s has an overall record of 9-15.
